Vincent Oshana has burst onto the comedy scene with his energetic and explosive style. As a young and passionate Assyrian, Vincent has dropped everything to live his dream and use his gift of making people laugh. We've all seen the Youtube videos and laughed at his jokes, but just who is Vincent Oshana?
For those that don't know you, tell us who Vincent Oshana is?
I am an actor / stand up comedian living in Los Angeles, California. I was in the USAF (United States Armed Forces) for 5 years and left to pursue my dream.
Why did you choose to get into comedy?
I believe that God blesses everyone on this planet with a gift and I was fortunate to discover that mine was the gift of making other people laugh.
Which well known comedians have you worked with? Which comedians would you like to work with in the future?
I have worked with Damon Wayans (Ed: From 'My Wife and Kids' ) on a couple of projects and I don't necessarily want to work with any particular comics. I would love to work with Will Ferrell and his crew.
What's the funniest joke you've heard?
It's too dirty to write in this interview. LOL!
If you weren't a comedian, what would you be doing?
Nothing....I'd be homeless.
What do you get up to in your spare time?
I love writing, going to the beach, watching movies. I'm a regular kind of guy.
What makes you proud to be an Assyrian?
The fact that we are the first civilized people on the planet and that we have contributed so much to the world i.e. Astronomy, Astrology, Agriculture, we built the first city and we invented beer.
What disappoints you about being Assyrian?
We don't get recognized as one of the greatest empires that ever existed. History books in schools don't even mention us. On top of that, what really bothers me is Assyrian's that don't get along because of church or other petty differences. They need to realize that if we don't unite as a people...we will die as individuals. The world wants to keep us unknown and for us to fight each other, is the perfect way for their plan to succeed.
If you were stranded on an island with 3 other people. Who would they be and why?
George Bush Jr., Mike Tyson and Jesus. I think it would be an interesting journey and we would make Bush do all the manual labor.
What have you got planned for your upcoming shows in Australia?
I have no plans. I'm just gonna rock out the show then wherever the night takes me is where I'll go. I can't wait.
